In Dreamweaver CS5.5 everytime I insert an image into a div or image placeholder the image comes in broken. I work in Fireworks first and export to html. When I open the html it looks pretty good expect
a few images are missing. I create div tags for these missing images and insert the image into the
div the image always comes in broken. I have tried the placeholder with the same result. In live view I can see the image but not in design view. That makes it difficult to work with. What is it I don't understand, it seems straight forward but it isn't
Thanks,
Linda
For best results, use FW for Images only; not HTML.
Save optimized images to your DW local site folder.
If you don't have a site folder defined in DW yet, you must do that critical first step otherwise DW can't manage your file assets & links for you.
See "Setting Up Local & Remote Site Folders"

I work in Fireworks first and export to html.
This method is not suitable for work on the web. It's ok for (and intended primarily for) producing a rapid prototype demonstration page/site but NOT for the web.
Show us an example of your code that contains a missing image, please.
Also, are you always working within a defined site in Dreamweaver?
While I work in fireworks for prototyping I use photoshop to optimize the separate images. There is a menue bar that I like in Fireworks that works very well I use. All my work is the root directory of DW
so I believe I have everything setup correctly. I am not sure what you can tell from the file I have posted.
the html version wouldn't come up so I have posted the template at www.webs4authors.com/adobehelp/aboutme.dwt your help will be appreciated.
Thank you
