Text field variable warning.

Jun 12, 2012 10:38 PM

Hi,

I'm updating a large .fla file from AS2.0 to AS3.0 and getting the following warning:

"WARNING: Text field variable names are not supported in ActionScript 3.0. The variable 'text_value' used for an unnamed text field will not be exported."

Is there a quick way to locate the offending symbol? The Flash Professional "Find" function does not seem to be helpful for this.

Thank you.

One way would be to look at the AS2 file opened as an AS2 file and find a textfield that has that var assigned to it in the properties panel's field for the var property.

I don't see how finding a textfield would be that difiicult/painful.

The error is only going to come from one fla.  You should be able to see any textfields involved.  You oughta try it first... I doubt there will be any need for Advil.
