    You have DW CS5?

Did you get it as part of the eLearning Suite?

These templates are only included in DW if you licensed it as part of the eLearning Suite...

Here, I have the eLearning Suite. I launch Dreamweaver. I select 'File' and the second entry is 'Insert eLearning Template'...

I dowloaded a trial of the latest (2.5) version of the eLearning suite, which includes DW 5.5 .... there is no menu access to eLearning templates.  or at least nothing that's as obvious as the one you pointed to.  it's something i was eager to test and am disappointed it's not included.

You may need to install the Adobe Course Builder Extension, or activate the extension, to see this option.

Open the Adobe Extension Manager and select Dreamweaver from the left hand menu.  If the extension is installed you can activate it from here.

If the extension is not installed you can install it from the Dreamweaver directory on your computer.  I'm not sure where this is located on a Windows based PC but on OSX it's under Applications -> Dreamweaver CS5.5 -> eLS 2.5 -> SupportFiles -> en_US -> CourseBuilder.zxp

Once the extension is installed and activated you can restart Dreamweaver to see the new elearning options.  If you haven't done so already have a look at the Dreamweaver overview in the Adobe eLearning Suite 2.5 Workflows (installed as part of the eLearning suite) to see what options the Course Builder extension offers.

Good thought - may not be specifically installed. Dreamweaver, I think, should have picked up the extension and asked to go through the install process when first started...but if not, yeap, do it manually.

On Windows 7, the extension is located here:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS5\eLS\SupportFiles\CourseBuilder\en_US

(if not on a 64bit system, path is likely similar but with no '(x86)' in the path)

pardon my ignorance, but are Coursebuilder interactions the same as Elearning templates?

    I am looking for these:

    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/elearningsuite/els/extensions/WSedb8e841cb c0b7961b7f7c5e12747ba6bf1-8000.html

these templates do NOT seem to be available via the steps laid out. installing Coursebuilder interactions allows for an array of benefits, but it is not the same as accessing the templates.

That list is similar to what appears in the dialog box when I click File > Insert eLearning Template.

But I can't figure out where that list is coming from nor where the templates are stored. The only .dwt file I see is here:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS5\configuration\DocumentTypes\NewDocuments

    and it's pretty basic.

If you're sure your DW came as part of the eLearning Suite, maybe try de/reinstalling?

What options do you have under 'File'...maybe screenshot that?

And, yeap, the Coursebuilder extension is definitely for creating interaction templates, not design templates, but since you seem to be missing both, installing it may have helped resolve....(if the DW elearning templates all come from there)

Probably better asked in the actual Dreamweaver forum:
