How do I bring up the thumbnail size slider in Adobe Light Room so that I can adjust the size of the thumbnails?
Press T, or View->Show Toolbar
It doesn't show the thumbnail slider when I do either of the two things you suggested?
Then click the down arrow at the right-hand end of the toolbar and select Thumbnail Size....
