How Do I Locate An Action I Created In CS5?

Jun 14, 2012 4:42 PM

Hello Folks,

How do I locate and action that I created in CS5, so I can load it into CS6?

I am running CS5 and 6 using Mac OSX Snow Leopard

I crearted two actions, but am now not sure where they reside, to load them into CS6

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Jim

Did you actually SAVE your actions as an action file set (.atn)?

If so, they are wherever you chose to save them.

If you did not save them but you still have your CS5 install intact, launch CS5 and save them as an ACTION SET right now.  Otherwise they're just hidden somewhere inside the general Photoshop preferences file where you can't  normally retrieve them.

Trevor, is the Actions panel.psp file compatible between the versions?  I don't doubt that it could be, but I have not read that it is.

You can't save individual actions, you save them as part of an ACTION SET.

Make sure you have Button Mode turned off.  Then you'll be able to see the set names to save them.
