Does this control enable the showing of a left gutter with line numbers? For example:

0003
...

I don't think so. A quick review of the properties at http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/mx/ controls/RichTextEditor.html#propertySummary doesn't have anything like what you describe.
