The link to the Windows 64-bit version of 11.3 is incorrect. The link (http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/licensing/win /install_flash_player_11_plugin_64bit.exe) should download the latest version of the Flash Player for Windows x64, but instead of 11.3, it downloads 11.2
Meanwhile, the Windows 32-bit link (http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/licensing/win /install_flash_player_11_plugin.exe) correctly points to the latest version, 11.3
Can someone at Adobe please fix this?
When on a 32-bit version of Windows and IE, looking at the main download site (where the non-redistributable ones are served), it has an alert box that says: "Beginning with 11.3, the universal 32-bit installer will include the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the Flash Player."
I wonder if this is the case for the plugin (Firefox) version as well. Which would be why they did not update the 64-bit one. . . though if this is the case, they should probably delete it to avoid confusion.
Incidentally, do you have the link to the IE version of the redistributable? I can't find it or puzzle it out based on the plugin one.
Best Regards,
B
The redistribution links are listed here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html
The link for the Firefox x64 one isn't listed there, but historically was found by appending _64bit.exe
I haven't tried the 32-bit link fully to see if it works for 64-bit, but given that it's file size is smaller than that of the 64-bit link, my gut says that it doesn't. I do know that if you start the 32-bit installer, it runs as a new install, not an upgrade, on a system where 64-bit is already installed.
The direct links for Flash Player 11.3 is provided here: http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-pr oblems-flash-player-windows.html#main-pars_header
Please note that there only two installers: for Internet Explorer and for other browsers.
