Flash update faulty!

Jun 14, 2012 11:07 PM

Once again I get a notice that I need to update my flash player and sure enough it will not work correctly! This has been the case the last few updates! I installed it for my Windows 7 64 bit  system running fiirefox and every application continues to tell me I need to upgrande my flash player as if I have not installed it! My Facebook games will not load at all and just freeze on the opening screen. If I unistall adn reinstall it restart and all the usual fixes nothing changes.

When will the issue be fixed this time?

Could you please let us know which version of Flash Player is installed in your computer by accessing the following link: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html

    Thanks,

    Sunil

Flash Player is already preinstalled in Chrome; you cannot update or install it on Chrome.

For Firefox, try the offline installer from http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-pr oblems-flash-player-windows.html#main-pars_header

I'm having the same problem. I've tried removing and installing Flash and Firefox several times. I don't know who the culprit is since both Firefox and Flash updated today.

I can't see anything if I go to the link where the version number is supposed to display.

On Facebook, none of the games work.

    I have Windows 7 64bit as well.

It looks to me as if it's installing the 32 bit version under the 64bit system, as the Control Panel Applet reports it's 32bit.

Could you please tell me how you went back to the 11.2 version, cause I want that also. I uninstalled everything already using the instructions and uninstaller. I have downloaded the right zip file (fp_11.2.202.233_archive) from the archive already. Now my only problem is which installer or .exe file to use for my system....??

I have Vista 32 bits with Firefox 13.

    Thanks in advance...

For Firefox users, please see this FAQ for solutions to the problems that you are encountering with Flash Player 11.3

How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?

If you are not encountering the RealPlayer conflict (described in the FAQ above), we recommend reverting back to a previous version of Flash Player.  See this FAQ for instructions for reverting back to either 11.2 or 10.3.

How do I revert to a previous version of Flash Player?

Unfortunately that doesn't sort all problems for me so I want to revert to a previous version yes.

I read and executed that FAQ also until the installing part, because

I don't know what installer or .exe file to use out of the ZIP archive.... It's not that clear in your FAQ...

I have Vista 32 bits with Firefox

Goto the 11_2r202_233_32bit directory and click on: flashplayer11_2r202_233_win_32bit.msi

That should work for Vista 32Bit.

There is no Netscapr anymore. It is the correct version for browsers other than Internet Explorer

Yesss thank you, that was the (simple) answer I was lookin' for!

I used the .exe file though for the adobe skin in stead of the windows installer skin

After using the uninstall FAQ and tool, installing the previous version gave no problem whatsoever. And it seems that ALL problems on both my systems vanished.

So it's pretty safe to conclude the newest plugin gave the trouble.....
