Hi! I'd be very appreciative for any info or advice all of the super smart Captivate users on this forum may have.
Here's what I want to be able to do, or know if it is possible. I have a series of questions, with text input fields. It isn't for a quiz and there isn't a right or wrong answer it's just to gather information (and have an education component to it as well). I then want at the end to use variables and have the answers compiled on one screen (to fill in a form as such) and then have the info or a screenshot be automatically emailed. I want the learner to click an email button and then for their outlook email window to come up and have the info automatically in the body of the email and they can then email it to the address in place.
Is this possible?
I'm going to say it *MAY* be possible.
Here's the bit that in my own mind is "iffy". Unless things have changed in the last few years, I seem to recall that a "number of characters" limitation existed when attempting to create a mailto that had things like the body and whatnot included to populate the email message. I have a nagging memory that you were limited to 255 characters or so. But I could be way off on that.
As for the slide that presents the whole schmear at the end before emailing, I'm thinking that may be a bit "iffy" as well. I say this because there simply may not be enough room on the slide to present the contents of what the user typed into the fields. Especially if they were really wordy. I'm sure that Captivate could handle such activity, but it may not be able to present everything in the viewable area of the screen.

Have you considered the email reporting widget by CpGuru?
Or perhaps the Variables to Google Form which sends variables to a Google Spreadsheet? You can configure the spreadsheet using "Notifications" to email you when their's a new response... with the response data... or keep your results in the spreadsheet for analysis.
