Sluggish Trim Edit on Tracks above V1A1 in CS6

Jun 6, 2012 3:21 AM

Premiere Pro is lagging, freezing when using Trim Edit on Video/Audio Track 2 and above

Please confirm this by performing simple steps:

  • Just duplicate a thousand of Bars and Tone clips (for testing purposes) in a sequence to Video/Audio Track 1 or open some large project with a lots of clips
  • Select Video/Audio Track 2
  • Enter Trim Mode

Here's a screen recording.

First, I will show, that there's everything fine when invoking Trim Edit on V1A1. The lag and freze occurs ov V2A2 and above. In the example all Clips was replaced with Bars and Tone clip and there are 4 tracks in the sequence, here's a list of Clips Quantity on each Track:

Duration: 01:14:19:15

  • Video 1 - 942 Clips
  • Video 2 - 65 Clips
  • Audio 1 - 465 Clips
  • Audio 2 - 1 Clip (others deleted for testing purposes)

@Steven Pribilinskiy. with a large project open, I tested the bars and tones in trim mode like your video shows, and I don't see the same behavior, everything functions as expected. I also went and tested the same functionality through video5 and audio5, smooth and no crashes.  Sorry, perhaps it's a PC bug, I'm testing on a MacPro

Long sequences require more system resources, especially RAM. What are your full specs again (especially RAM), Steven?
