This is a little project that has been going back and forth for a while between myself and the people adding the mapping functionality.
We've been having a little trouble getting the drop down menus on the right hand side to appear centred in IE7/8. I have a feeling at some point, there was a difference between how they appeared depending on where they were hosted.
But anyways...
I am using a Mac and virtual box to preview in IE - I'd be grateful though if anyone could have a quick look at the following link:
http://gsma.streetmap.co.uk/Custom/Barts/GSMA/Template/coverage_final_ 11/final1.htm
And confirm that it looks like the screenshot below showing how virtual box renders them in IE7 and 8:
http://www.handprintwebdesign.co.uk/coverage/screenshots.htm
Thank you!
This is looking more and more strange.
Just looking at IE8, the gsma.streetmap link above looks OK in my virtual windows, but a version copied and uploaded onto my own site, using the same files, does not.
gsma.streetmap link:
http://gsma.streetmap.co.uk/Custom/Barts/GSMA/Template/coverage_final_ 11/final1.htm
My own site link:
http://www.handprintwebdesign.co.uk/coverage/coverage_final_11/final1. htm
Screenshots of what I'm seeing (gsma.streetmap on the left, my own site on the right) :
http://www.handprintwebdesign.co.uk/coverage/screenshots2.htm
The weird thing is that the client is saying its the other way around, ie it looks OK on my site, but misaligned on the gsma.streetmap link.
Sorry its all a bit confusing, but I'd really appreciate anyone having a quick look and letting me know what they see.
I edited your first link to remove a redundant "http://". Nevertheless, the edited link produces a file not found error.
For me using IETester (I don't have IE8 installed any longer), the handprint page looks just like the GSMA image in your screenshot. The fields are properly aligned.
Thanks for having a look Murray.
The first link was a typo, missing a :
It should be:
http://gsma.streetmap.co.uk/Custom/Barts/GSMA/Template/coverage_final_ 11/final1.htm
Weird - link works here.
Try without the http://
gsma.streetmap.co.uk/Custom/Barts/GSMA/Template/coverage_final_11/fina l1.htm
OK - looking at that as I edit the post, its correct, but the forum is changing the last part to
/fina l1.htm
should be
/final1.htm
Thanks Murray - although that's now three different answers.
Here, using Windows running virtually on a Mac:
GSMA version looks OK
Handprint version misaligned
http://www.handprintwebdesign.co.uk/coverage/screenshots2.htm
The client, using actual IE8:
GSMA version misaligned
Handprint version looks OK
Yourself, using IETester:
Both look OK.
This is odd, right? The next variable factor I can think of would be OS, but that shouldn't make a difference should it?
