Adobe upgrade--can't save PDF?

I am running Mac OS10.6.8. Since I updated Adobe Reader, I can view PDFs but it refuses to save them. Really important in my line of work to save PDFs. What's going on and what to do?

PS the version of Adobe is 10.1.3

All Macs offer the capability of print to pdf (see the Print dialog box, there is a PDF button). If you want Adobe quality pdfs, then you need Acrobat.
