Is flash player 11.3 compatible with Windows vista 64 bit?

I don't have major issues with the video and sound (the flash player used to crash frequently but that seems to have been resolved). But I can't adjust the volume with the volume control wheel when I watch videos on firefox. When I check volume mixer the flash player is tied to the speaker, not firefox.

 

The product description for flash player 11.3 seems to suggest that it will not support Windows Vista 64 bit. Should I revert back to an older version? What's the most straightforward way to do that? Is the Adobe team fairly close to finding a solution?

 

Much thanks to anyone who provide some answers for people who aren't computer savvy - like me.

    Previously, with separate 32-bit and 64-bit installers, you could run the 64-bit installer on Vista, and it would work correctly.  However, it was not officially supported by Adobe.

     

    Now with the 11.3 combined installers, I do not know what it installs on Vista.  I do not have Vista available, so I cannot test it.  Can you tell me what files you have in

    • C:\Windows\system32\macromed\flash ?
    • C:\Windows\syswow64\macromed\flash ?

    flashutil64_11_2_202_235_ActiveX

     

    flashutil64_11_3_300_257_Plugin

     

    (and a few .dll and .ocx)

     

    C:\windows\syswow64\macromed\flash

     

    Same as above, but also has Flashplayerplugin_11_3_300_257
