Hi Guys....Using DW 5.5 on Win7 64Bit machine...when trying to use keyboard shortcuts IE. 'ctrl.1' on the 'keypad' to make selection 'Heading 1' has no effect although the top numeric keys work just fine...keypad 'NumLock' on or off makes no difference.????????????
You can't use numeric keypad with CTRL key because those keys are meant to be used alone for inserting numbers.
To use CTRL key plus the number, you should always use the numbers in line one of the keyboard (assuming you are using standard English keyboard - US, Australian or UK).
All key combinations are meant to be used from the main keyboard (NOT from number keypad). This is Windows default settings.
Hope this helps.
Thanks very much for that...had always considered myself fairly computer savy but have never come across that before.
Googled away but there is nothing out there.
Actually searched and found some Ctrl+# (numeral) shorcuts for office 2010 and they also wont work with the keypad. Although Ctrl+4 backspaces one letter, Ctrl+7 backspaces to the start of the sentence, 8 goes up one line and 9 back to the document
start....not sure if this is valid shortcuts or just coincidence.
Question is why not....you say it's windows default, but why and for what reason?.
