Haven't used Encore CS5 in a month or so and today when trying to create a new project or open an old one, it goes through the loading transcode settings, etc, then pops up a small warning box with "Access Denied" and when I click OK button the program closes and says Windows is looking for the problem.
Opened CS4 Encore and it works fine on same machine, created project.
Just had a Windows 7 update install yesterday and installed a Matrox MX02 LE PCIe box which seems to be working fine. Premiere is OK, but did notice that AME took 25 minutes to encode a 5 minute piece of HDV to DVD-mpeg today. All 8 processors working at 100%.
I don't use Encore that much (and worse case, I have it on my laptop workstation and can use that as backup until CS5.5 arrives) but the slowdown in AME makes me nervous. Have major web video project in the mill and need to render 13 movies in next couple days.
Yep, I solved the 'access denied' error by starting Encore as admin. Aparently, Encore is sometimes writing in the Program Files directory of Win7 which the OS prevets. Hence, the 'access denied' message The only way to avoid this is to start the application as administrator.
