I am about to build a new PC. I will install CS5 creative suite and upgrade to CS6 but I need to know if it has support for the new Windows 8 O/S
thanks

I was building a new rig and went for the safe option of installing windows 7 then CS5.5 ( and upgraded that to CS6. ) I haven't upgraded to windows 8 yet, initial reports about Windows 8 contained the usual gripes about a new system, so I intend to wait until more information is in about it from experienced users. I think the best option is to install CS5 on Windows 7 at the moment then wait until you can get CS6 upgrade and see what the info on Windows 8 is. Bob Levine seems to have had no problems so far with CS6 and Windows 8. I had installation problems with CS4 and Windows Vista (But everyone seems to have had problems with Vista) but that was a 32bit version and I am not sure whether that added to my problems at that time, for sure my CS4 was very flaky on my 32 bit Vista machine. so the only advice I can offer is fork out for Windows 7 64 bit and install CS5 as a proven system, or fork out for CS6 and install on your Windows 8 64 system.
hope this helps.

I was able to get CS5.5 installed & working, sort of. It still did not work on the Release Preview but it did work on the Windows 8 Enterprise Evaluation version, which is supposedly the final build of Windows 8. I'm pretty confident there are no more issues, every aspect of CS5.5 currently works.
