Fails to publish!

Jun 17, 2012 9:34 AM

I've read all of the forums about Captivate failing to publish; extra spaces, shift+enter, 0x3 etc., I just can't get it to upload! Although I've only had ELearning Suite 2.5 since April I'll upgrade to Captivate 6 if it actually works!  Any fix to the failed to publish problem a lot of folks are having?

    Welcome to our comunity

When you say "Publish", what exactly do you mean?

In Captivate parlance, Publishing is the process of creating the final output that will later be uploaded to a web server or given to others to watch/interact with.

If you come from a Web Developer perspective, Publishing is the act of copying that final output to a server.

    Which is it?

    Cheers... Rick

A few basic things to check:

    • You have a valid user login for Adobe Connect Pro and can access the folder where you were trying to upload the published files.
    • You can successfully upload other files (e.g. a PDF or DOC file) to the same folder
    • Your Captivate published files all use lower-case filenames
    • Your Captivate published file names contain no punctuation characters or accented characters
    • The project information fields inside your Captivate published files contain no punctuation characters etc.

I have to tag on here...I also have this problem. I have checked all of the variables listed. To make this all the more frustrating, I was able to publish this same project yesterday without any issue.

The only change I made to the file today was to modify the skin by removing the play bar and non-essential buttons. Replacing them after the fact (as a test) did not help.

The project will not publish...any update on this issue?

    Thanks.

I had this sort of issue occur with 2.5 and Adobe Connect also. My solution was to publish as zip files only and NOT directly to Connect. After I would publish, I logged into Connect and uploaded the zip files. However, since I upgraded to 6.0 I have had no such issue.
