Flash player not recognized?

Hi all

I have an imac OSX and for some reason one of my accounts is failing to recognise my Flash Player. The Adobe Download Centre has let me download version 10.3.183.20 to one of my accounts and I can play videos such as on YouTube no problem. When I go into my other account my Flash Player in system preferences is still 10.3.183.20 but I can't seem to play any videos? My Broser is Firefox if this helps. Apologies, as I'm a bit of an IT novice, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mike,

Please let us know your operating system version? For example, Mac OS 10.5.
Also, could you please access the following link and let us know what error you get: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html

I'm having a similar issue. I'm on OS 10.7.4 and downloaded flash again from adobe this morning yet when I go to the link above it says it's not installed. I am running lion and tried the video that's posted too, same thing you tube says I have no flash player installed yet it's there and no matter how many times i uninstall and reinstall it does the same thing. Perhaps there's an issue with the installer?
