The design house i work for, in Australia, has 7 x CS5.5 Subscription Licences which we would like to upgrade to the Creative Cloud in one form or another.
I've looked in to Creative Cloud Team Ready Licences (CCTRL), but cannot work out what the benefit is over 7 regular Creative Cloud Licences, apart from having more control over the distribution of the licence to a resource.
I've been quoted $1155/year for 1 CCTRL and the cost for an annual account for the Creative Cloud would cost $755.88/year, a difference of $400 (give or take). I haven't worked out whether or where GST comes in to this yet, as the Adobe Creative Cloud website doesn't state this, so my figures may be off a little but the questions still stands.
So the question is, if i pay for 1 x CCTRL, with the increased cost, do i then have to pay another $1155 per licence for the remaining 6 licences?
Have i misunderstood this somewhere? If not $400/yeah/licence for 7 licences equals to a $2800/year saving by NOT going to Create Cloud Team (ready or not).
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated as i'm just not getting it!
I did just that as i at first assumed it would include x number of licences or something along those lines, but it didn't, it was for the one licence. The price was and is still listed on their website. The guy i spoke to was just as confused when i questioned the price being so much more expensive than a standard Creative Cloud Licence. He then called adobe to clarify it himself and was told the same.
So either we're both getting the wrong end of the stick or there's something wrong somewhere.
Any further thoughts?
EDIT: I just had another google and thought i'd read other reseller's web pages advertising the same product. The options are limited for Australian resellers, but i did find a reseller in the UK selling it for £625.43 (not far off the same price as it is here in aus when converted). The site says it's:
"The Creative Cloud Team Ready offer provides a low cost of entry to CS6 Master Collection now, plus additional benefits when Creative Cloud Team fully launches"
The additional benefits over the regular cloud offering seem to be listed as: "You gain access to technical support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, plus Adobe Expert Support to help you learn how to best use Adobe’s products on your projects. (Limit two appointments per license.)"
If that's the only difference i bet there will be a LOT of companies not going along the Team route.
I agree. There appears to be very little advantage to Team Ready. The cost is too high compared to just getting the standard subscriptions.
I was quoted $840 per seat in the US. That's more than most small businesses can afford when they only need a few apps per seat.
$840 is on the higher side, but then I do not know where you got the prices from but if you look at it there are few advantages of CCTR to Individual License:
A company can not afford that if a user leaves the company takes the Subscription Model with them. CCTR is the way to go for Companies, it's Legal, Designed for them.
That quote I got from calling Adobe. I got a slightly lower quote from a reseller. However this is still higher than the standard price of $600 per year.
We have some users that only need a few apps like Photoshop and Illustrator and that's it. As for cloud space, we have servers and would not use the cloud much. Also, if a user leaves, then we could end that subscription.
