I had a look at some of the sites mentioned earlier in this topic. It seems that some of the sites go and install an older Shockwave Player version.
Do you have any Shockwave or Director folder
Shockwave Player should be installed in C:\Windows\system32\Adobe\Shockwave11 (or C:\Windows\syswow64\Adobe\Shockwave11) only.
Sorry, I was visiting relatives with no internet. Thanks a lot for the help
BTW! As a matter of fact ... there IS an older version of Shockwave (v 10)
in the Macromedia folder. I installed 11 in the Adobe folder. However, I
just went to the site with which I was having problems (
http://www.mesopotamia.co.uk/time/challenge/cha_set.html ) and, oddly
enough, it is now working - and I have no clue why (I'm sure I would have
restarted the comp in my efforts the other day). It's really odd! But, I'm
not going to look a gift horse in the mouth! Thanks once again Pat!
