I seem to have a small issue with plugins showing as "Installed and Running" but the Presets aren't showing in the "Export with preset" panel. In particular the two plug-ins are HDR Efex from Nik Software and XRite Color Checker passport.
Everything seems to be OK as another plugin (LR Enfuse) is located in the same Modules folder in the Appdata/Roaming/Adobe/Lightroom foder and shows in the Plug-in Extras panel.
The PC is running Windows 7 x64 and the installation of Lightroom is 4.1 (latest) there is also CS6 etc on the PC and I haven't really had any problems before.
Even if I right click on a photo the two export presets in question don't show in the export panel.
The strange thing though is if I copy the Presets to directories I made in the "Export Presets" folder they show in the export panel under the names of the directories and they work ok.
Is there anyone who can think of a reason for this?
Hi,
I beleive I have come to the root of the problem, the relevant paths and settings folders are:
Library Path: C:\Users\HP-Dv4-DM\Pictures\Lightroom\Lightroom 4 Catalog.lrcat
Settings Folder: C:\Users\HP-Dv4-DM\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom
FYI the system info is:
Lightroom version: 4.1 [829322] x64 ,
Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium Edition x64, Version: 6.1 [7601]
(HP-Dv4-DM is the name of the PC) and it seems that Lightroom doesn't like the name "HP-Dv4-DM" but, short of renaming the PC and removing the user, I cannot work out if it is the "v" or the dashes in the name. The name "HP-Dv4-DM" is just a display name as the disk is not case sensitive so I assume it is the "-" in the name and affects only ".lrplugin" folders with presets in a "presets" folder within the plugin.
I moved the plugins to a folder in the Documents then the Pictures library and it still didn't work so I created a folder on the Root directory "LR-Modules" moved the plugins there and still had the same problem. When I renamed the folder to "LRModules" and reimported the plugins all was fine.
I guess I should report this as a bug? If any Adobe employee reads this give me some advice as to where I should place this.
