Is it necessary to uninstall cs5 after install cs6?

I have installed CS6 from Creative Cloud, and CS5 was left on my PC. Is it necessary to keep the CS5 installation?  Can it be uninstalled without effecting my CS6 installation?

 

There are a very few CS5 apps I will need to retain and continue to use (for example, Contribute CS5).  Will there be problems running some CS5 apps with CS6 installed?
