Convert AutoCAD dwg to PDF Error Message

When I attempt to convert an AutoCAD dwg to PDF, I receive the following error message, even though according to the instructions it is not necessary to have AutoCAD installed.

 

"Could not find the application that created this file:  [filename].  Please select a file created by an application that resides on your computer."

 

This rather defeats the intended purpose - creating a PDF from a CAD file for those that do not have AutoCAD installed.

 

Any magical solutions out there?

    I encountered this same problem awhile back when trying to convert a DWG to PDF without AutoCad installed. The only thing that worked for me was to run a Repair of the Acrobat installation from under the Control Panel in Windows.
