Each attempt to open any PDF file results in them being opened (encoded) in either Japanese or Korean.....

I have tried any number of the options offered in the "box" - help!

I need the ability to open these files from clients......

Odd since Adobe Reader is not a translation software of any sort. How are you determining that they are in a foreign language? Do you have a sample PDF you can post a link to? What version of Reader are you using? How are you opening the PDF's? We'll need some more info here to be able to help...

Does that happen with every PDF you try to open? This one: http://helpx.adobe.com/content/dam/help/attachments/Acrobat_Reader_Rel easeNote_10.1.3.pdf - can you post a screen shot how that looks to you?
