While downloading flashplayer 11, the download hangs at 50% and the I get at message asking me to close internet exploreer. when I close internet explorer it does not recognise that I have done so and keeps giving me the the same close down message... Help please?
Download the offline installer from http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-pr oblems-flash-player-windows.html#main-pars_header and save it to disk, then close all browser windows and run the downloaded installer.
Check with the Task Manager's Processes that no iexplore.exe process is running in the background. You must also close any messengers, chat clients, Skype, etc. when you run the installer.

Dear Pat... thank you very very much for taking the time to reply to my flash player problem, especially the part about the task manager... that really worked a treat.
However, I appear to have successfully downloaded flash player, but any net program that needs to run flash player, i.e. Tom Tom Navigation site, does not recognise that I have the player on my system. All the sites that require the player are still telling me that I need to download the flash player? I have Norton 360 virus protection on my computer, but now I'm wondering if something has gotten through it and is affecting the recognition that Flash player is indeed running on my system... any ideas please?... Best regards, Jim
