novice mistake! please confirm

Jun 19, 2012 4:20 AM

Hi Guys

I've done very little multi-issue apps, well this is my first in 18 months really, so I think I've made a school boy error.

I added a folio to my app that was of a later version than what I created the app with.

So I've just gone in updated the app itself, and tested on the iPad, however, having loaded the ipa file onto the ipad, I still get the message that the app needs updating. I've definitely built the the app in viewer builder with v19, I havent loaded v20 tools yet, (i'm in the middle of projects) so would have thought the folio would work. Or will this only work when the app is approved by Apple etc. (which is what I suspect)

Cheers

Alistair

    Hi Alistair,

... as far as I know, the introduction of an article created in a V20 setup into an article created in a V19 setup by copying from Folio Producer (from one folio to another) will generate the error you are getting.

Since you do not have the V20 tools installed, is it likely that you introduced such an article from an external source maybe (shared from an advertiser or else)?

Same thing happened here couple of issues ago. I'm afraid we had to re-submit the app too and had to wait around 7days until approval. Since that hic-up I always stay a drop behind and always update the app before we update the tools.
