Premiere Elements 10 Installation issues.

I am trying to install premiere elements, but I keep getting "Error code:1" which tells me to uninstall and re-install the program. I've even tried to download the trial version directly from the site and get the same code. What's the issue here? What can I do? How do I troubleshoot this problem?

For pure installation issues, there is also a Download & Installation Forum (linked from one of John T's articles), where you might get direct help with that error message. I would post there and do provide full computer specs.
