I converted a bilingual document into word. The English text was fine, however there was a problem with the Arabic. Some of the words need to be deleted and re-typed again. grateful if someone can help me on this.

What version of Word? What version of Acrobat? The conversion from pdf to word is never perfect. The arabic that had to be retyped was it created in a different manner the the rest of the arabic in the pdf?

The conversion of PDF to word is iffy. The structure of a PDF, in abstract, doesn't have the concept of word, line, or paragraph. They are just characters positioned on a page. It is pretty incredible that Acrobat does as well as it does.  Depending upon how the PDF was created it can do a very good job. If the document provides structure information when it is created, then Acrobat can use that information to recreate the file.
