My company is planning to purchase FMS, but before we do it - we need to clear one thing.
We installed FMS developer's edition in order to check how it works. It's installed on a server with both local and internet IP. We also opened tcp traffic on 1935th port for this server.
so far live stream from that server works fine in the local area network, however when we are trying to connect as an internet user - it seems like there is no connection at all (means flash player doesnt even find a server).
Any ideas where we should dig? and if it's actually possible without actionscripting and through standard FMS applications?
thanks in advance.
We've had a similar discussion before here : http://forums.adobe.com/message/4469175. Why don't you see if this helps? If you have any additional queries please do get back to us.
Person in that discussion seems to be stuck after getting public IP, because it's still not working for him. And it seems like there is no answer coming for him any soon.
Like I said before - our server already have an assigned public IP with all the required rules, that allow traffic by TCP protocol on 1935 port.
Have you tried using telnet from any external client - please trying telnet using Public IP address of your FMS machine and 1935 as port. If that goes through that means there is no port or firewall issues.
Now once you have confirmed that there is no firewall issue - you can check if you have not set any domain restrictions say in allowedSWFdomain.txt & allowedHTMLdomains.txt if you are using live or vod sample applications.
I found out the source of my problem - seems like I've screwed up embed-plugin that I were using on my html-page. All this time everything were working perfectly, it's just my page wasnt really addressing anyone from the outside to the server.
Still thanks for your time.
