Remove a file from the catalog

Jun 20, 2012 8:24 AM

How can I remove a picture from the catalog after I have moved or renamed the directory outside of the program?  The only solution I've found so far is to delete the directory and recreate it, but I have over 15,000 pictures on my computer.  This process takes hours.

Select it in Organizer and hit delete. Leave the box unchecked (delete from disk also) and that will remove it only from Organizer.

    Open the Organizer and click:

File à Reconnect à All Missing Files

As soon as you see the first pop-up…Searching… hit the Browse button.

The Reconnect Missing files dialog should open.

Highlight the first missing file in the top left window.

Then scroll to the bottom of the list and shift-click on the last file (to select all)

Then click the Delete From Catalog button and click OK.

N.B. This works best for a few hundred files rather than 15,000 but give it a try. You may need to shift-click and select small batches of say 1000 at a time.
