Color Issues

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone else had the problem when you view your adobe idea art on your computer, in photoshop or illustrator the colors are way off?  Almost washed out (very bright).

I love how I colored my art on the ipad but am very concerned because it looks very different on my mac computer.  It is really driving me crazy and I am going to be looking to start doing more colored art

and then bringing it into illustrator or photoshop to resize and then print on greeting cards, heat transfer paper etc.

It sounds like what you want is some sort of color management that allows you to see the same colors on your iPad as you do on each of your desktop machines. Adobe Ideas currently does not do any color management. This is mainly because there is currently little support in iOS for retrieving or using color profiles when rendering colors to the screen. As such, only raw RGB values are used in the app and stored in the Ideas file. When brought into the desktop apps, those raw RGB values are  reinterpreted based on the default RGB color profile for the app.

Through empirical analysis and experimentation, other folks on the Web claim that iOS seems to use a close variant of the sRGB color profile. For best results, then, make sure that your default RGB color profile is set to "sRGB" in your desktop apps. This won't provide a perfect match, but I believe it is the closest representation that is used in iOS. (sRGB should already be the out-of-the-box default in Illustrator and Photoshop.)

For more info on color management in the Creative Suite, see http://help.adobe.com/en_US/creativesuite/cs/using/WS52323996-D045-437 d-BD45-04955E987DFB.html.

    Hope that helps,
