Paragraph styles are using the wrong fonts.

Jun 20, 2012 9:56 AM

I have a document that I created several paragraph styles for.

When I opened the project today I noticed that the wrong font was set for some of the styles. If I select some text with a style applied and I drill down into the edit style dialogue, the name of the correct font is listed.

If I look up at the control bar, the name of the actual font that I have selected is displayed.

At this point, the fix is to select the incorrect type and change it back to the correct font, using the control bar. This renders my styles almost useless.

Can anyone offer a suggestion?

    You’ve manually overridden the style.

Select the paragraph and you’ll see a plus sign next to the style. Alt/Option click the style name to remove the manual overrides.

You may have applied a character style to the text in addition to the paragraph style. That would give you the behavior described, and would not show as an overrride.
