Outline multiple pages of text at once?

I'm working with several 200 page documents and I need to convert all of the text to outlines.  Is there a way to do it that's faster than going page to page?  This would save me a LOT of time in the future.

    Why do you need to do this? It goes against every best practice in the book and perhaps we can offer you a better alternative by keeping your text live.

    I'm using data merge to lay out the contents of a card game (the front of each card).  The printing company we are using wants each card face as an individual PDF, and obviously doesn't want to touch our fonts.

    The fonts are embedded in the PDF. They don’t them to output the PDF.

    If I'm missing an option somewhere, please let me know, but we've done this printing process several times before and when we forget to outline fonts they end up in arial.

    You seriously need to start shopping for a new printer. My guess is that they’re opening the PDFs in Illustrator and printing from there.

    My guess is that either you are distilling the PDF and forgetting to embed the fonts, or that you are using protected fonts. Even opeing in Illy shouldn't cause font substitution if the fonts are embedded properly, as far as I know.

     

    That said, there IS a way to outline fonts in one go, and it's actually better than doing it by selecting the text and converting to outlines. Read about it at Possible bug: oulining text w/ flattener in CS5
