HD clip not scaled when inserted into SD timeline

When I insert an HD clip into an SD timeline in Premiere Pro CS6 the clip does not get scaled. I can go in and manually scale the hd clip so that they match but I want them to scale automatically. Please advise. I'm using the free trial of Premiere Pro CS6 on Windows.

    Welcome to the forum.

     

    Have you turned on Scale to Default Frame Size?

     

    That should do the Scaling automatically.
