Hi. It seems that if you select a Captured Audio folder within PrP CS6 Mac, then change the name of the Captured Audio folder in the finder at some later point, PrP recreates the old folder in the finder.
I would rather PrP ask me where to put the Captured Audio if it can't find the old folder, instead of recreating a dead folder. That's a little unnerving.
Thanks!
Benjamin
Is it bad for rendered and preview files to be saved on your laptop HD(which PrP does as a default) or do you recommend doing all this on a external HD?
Bt default, PrP saves scratch disk files to wherever your project is being saved but as I was reading this doc. it said that you should save scratch disk files somewhere other than where your media is being accessed by PrP. So what is recommended? What are some tips and what is the best thing to do here?
The answer to that question will be - it depends.
Do you have multiple internal HDD's in that laptop, like a Sager, or ADK?
If not, then one CAN edit to/from externals, with a few caveats. Many of those are addressed in this ARTICLE.
Good luck,
Hunt
You are most welcome, and I hope that it helps.
If you come to questions on HDD's (internal, or external), I strongly recommend the Adobe Hardware Forum. There are some great folk there, who do not come here that often.
Good luck,
Hunt
The default location for the media cache on a Windows system is this:
%appdata%\Adobe\Common
If you work in a Windows domain environment that uses roaming user profiles, I'd change this setting to:
%localappdata%\Adobe\Common
"Local app data" stays on the local computer, where "app data" follows the user around on the network. Making this change would save a lot of server space on the network, and improve performance by avoiding network drives for temporary files.
