Best way to export HD to DVD

Jun 19, 2012 9:03 AM

I have my timeline on my CS6 PP (CC), and I'm wondering what's the best way to burn an HD timeline (XD Cam) to a DVD WHILE cropping the sides since I need it in 720x480.

I fiddles around with some tests, but can't seem to find the right option...

Any help? Thanks.

Also, use the Scale to Fill option on the Output tab of the Export Settings.

Open your project via Dynamic Link in Adobe's Encore. In Encore you can create a DVD project with menues and so on and you can it directly burn it on a DVD.

In Premiere Pro go to file/ Adobe Dynamic Link/Send to Encore. Your sequence will launch Encore automatically. In Encore right click your sequence to set your transcode sttings and check the MRQ box for excellent HD to SD results.

    Hope this helps.

I don't believe the Dynamic Link option will allow for the required Pan & Scan.  It'll come out letterboxed or anamorphic.

Encore does have crop and scale to fit, in the Edit Quality Presets, so you could probably make it work.

I have not played with CS6 enough, but the verdict is still out on whether you want to let Encore (as Encore or AME) transcode HD to SD, rather than using PR/AME.
