Whilst currently making a dvd project, the use of any of the Audio Tools drop down sub-menu's, ceased working or displayed.
The sub-menu's were displayed, but unable to activate any of them, eg smart mix, audio mix.
Help please, even though using the learn by video, it can be done, but a really long winded way, rather than the use of sliders to control volumn.

Are you saying that the Audio Tools drop-down won't drop down?
There could be a number of reasons for this -- most related to how much power your system has and where the video you're editing came from. (To test this, try opening a new project and see if you can open this menu without anything on your timeline.)
Meantime, most of the same tools are available under the Tools and Windows menus at the top of the interface.
Evening Steve.
The drop- down menu does show the sub-menus, but even with a new project, no views show under Audio mix, nor Smart tools unless I had a clip of music, then under "apply" the following screen dump shows.
Unfortunately I'm totally unable to find the suggested text written below, anywhere under file, edit, clip, timeline, disc, title, window, help. Any suggestions please.
"Meantime, most of the same tools are available under the Tools and View menus at the top of the interface".
Many thanks,
Jon
Hi Steve or even anybody.
Sent a reply on 12th June, and still awaiting a response on 17th June, so anybody at home please, if so please be kind and reply to my last submission.
re exactly where under "File, Edit, Clip, Timeline, Disc, Title, Window, Help" am I likely to find this "Tools and View" menu, as it doesn't appear under any of these drop menus.
Hope to hear from anybody soon.
Jon
Jon, look at the menu bar along the top of the computer's interface. Go to the one that says Window. You should find Audio Mixer under it.
You will find additional tools under the Timeline menu.
I don't know why you're not seeing anything under your Audio Tools drop-down on the timeline. Have you tried resizing the panels in your interface?
Otherwise, without having your computer here in front of me, I can't say.
I do not see it as often in the PrE forum, as in the PS forum, but some Adobe menus do no display properly, if the monitor's resolution is set too low. What is your monior's resolution, and also refresh rate?
Only reason, that I can think of, for seeing more reports in PS, than PrE, is that people editing video, probably have beefier computers, and larger, higher-rez monitors, than some of the folk trying to use PS.
Just a thought.
Good luck,
Hunt
Check out the minimum system requirements, regarding monitor resolution: http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere-elements/tech-specs.html
Good luck,

The screenshot you referenced in your 12th June post was not present. Also note that this is a user to user community forum. To contact Adobe about your problem click their logo at the top of the web page.
Have you changed, in Windows, the default font size? That can mess up PRE menu display.
Cheers,

Hi Bill.
Unfortunately I haven't a clue as to what this reply is all about, as no idea what Pre and PS is, and so I'm in total darkness.
As I've just mentioned in previous email, this problem only started during this latest project. Also found that audio tool, as Steve said, but again nothing happens when trying Audio tools, and then Audio mix. Either way to select audio tools, and then to try to activate Audio mix, ends in nothing what so ever.
Thanks for your assistance.
