I have spent the better part of 3 days trying to dicipher scripting for a simple "under construction" page at www.josephorbi.org
the swf, flv and fla are in the josephorbi directory, the "Scripts" directory is exactly as it reads in the index.html and as far as I know, all the files are where they should be.
I generated the index.html with DW CS5 and 5.5
Still, I can't get the swf file to show on FF, IE Chrome, etc.
I also have everything up to date.
I should point out that the "josephorbi" directory (domain) is under another a main domain "diplo.org."
I would appreciate very much any help with this matter. Although I found many instances on the web of people having the same problem, none of their solutions (if any) have worked for my problem.
Many many thanks in advance,
Peter
Post a link to the actual page. At
I get a "Access Forbidden" page.
There is just no way to diagnose the problem without seeing the actual page.
Millions of Web pages contain .swf files, so it's not like they don't work. They work just fine, but like anything else, they must be correctly implemented.
Best wishes,
Adninjastrator
The problem seemed to be the way Flash CS5.5 was generating the SWF from the FLV. I got another program to convert the FLV and now it works fine.
I could have been wrong converting the FLV to SWF with Flash Pro CS5.5.
I would start a new AS3 doc in Flash CS5.5 (automatic settings) import the FLV into the stage, then publish to Flash (SWF).
I then took the SWF file and import it into DW.
It never worked.
With the new flv -> swf convert program it works like a charm.
Is there a right way to convert the FLV to SWF with Flash Pro CS5.5?
BTW, I think you can access the temp page now at www.josephorbi.org
Thanks,
Peter
