Can premiere pro cs6 be activated using a 1M/s DSL line?

I understand that Premiere Pro CS6 comes on double layed DVD discs and needs a broadband internet line for activation.  Is my 1Megabyte/sec DSL connection fast enough for activation?

    That should not be an issue.

     

    I have activated from my laptop over a Wireless G connection, though the main wired connection is much faster.

    Thanks Bill,

       I wrote the wrong specification, it was late.  My DSL is only 1Megabyte/minute, which I think is much too slow.   Wikipedia lists a 'broadband specification' of 1.5-2Mega bit/sec or 11-15Megabyte/minute.  Which means Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 will NOT activate over my internet connection.

    I'd be very surprised if Activation required that much bandwidth.

    I agree that 11Mbyte/minute does seem like a lot of bandwidth.  Certainly online services like Adobe TV and most help videos need more than 1M/minute bandwith to be used effectively.  A search of 'broadband'm in Wikipedia lists a specification of 1.5-2 megabit/sec or 11.3-15 Megabyte/minute; given by the International Telegraph and Telephone Consulting Commitee, (CCITT international).  And the Adode Premiere Pro CS6 system requirements states; "broadband internet connection and registration are required for activation...". 

    At the same time my internet connection is much less than the CCITT standard and I hate to open a software product without knowing whether it will work.

    Amazon.com will not accept a return on opened software, had I ordered the product from Adobe I'd open the box immediately.  I wish I could get some kind of commitment on the part of Adobe as to whether they would allow me to return the product.  Customer service and technical support would give me no concrete answer over the telephone.  I don't wish to get into a TIME OUT situation, where my account activation is stopped before completion.  This is exactly what has happened to me when I have tried long downloads in the past.

    Hi Jim,

       If I could get some kind of written commitment from Adobe, saying they would allow me to return the product, then I would open the product box.   Amazon won't give refunds for opened software, and the software ain't cheap.  Adobe sales and technical support seem pretty use less.

        I've studied what Premiere pro can do, and its impressive.  My system has decent components including Open GL 2, 12 G RAM, RAID 0 for 1 drive, (which uses 2 SATAs internally), although I do have to buy a double layer DVD reader, (I had heard that the dye-based consumer written discs had longevity problems).

    Adobe offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, on software (open, or not - installed, or not) purchased from a certifed reseller. If you bought from Amazon, have the receipt, and did not buy from a third-party THROUGH Amazon, there should not be an issue.
