I want the Highlight Text pen to persist to mark multiple sections - not one at a time

    Can you explain what you're looking for in more detail? Non-contiguous selection? Or the selection of the highlight pen to persist? What version of Acrobat are you running?

    Hi, Thanks for your response.

     

    I am running Adobe Acrobat X Pro 10.1.3

     

    The scenario is this:

    1 - I set the Mouse to highlight (it changes from arrow point to a dotted box with a line down the middle).

    2 - I select a section of text by holding  the left mouse down

    3 - When I lift my finger off the left mouse the text selection is highlighted and the mouse changes back to an arrow point. In order to highlight another different section I need to reset the mouse to highlight

     

     

    Note the following:

    - The highlight text used to work so that I could highlight multiple, non-contigous sections of text.

    - THe problem was that the highlighter would not turn off when I hit the highlight icon again (I assumed the highlight icon acted as a toggle).

    - To turn it off I tried selecting the "section tool for text and images" icon. Now that is highlighted on the tool bar all the time (except for those periods when I have the highlight text on.

     

    What do you think? Is the highlight text icon supposed to behave as a toggle?

    In the Comments pane > Annotation panel, hover over the Highlight text tool and right-click to select Keep Tool Selected.
