After several months of learning, testing and building we finally were able to push out a really cool DPS catalog for Dick's Sporting Goods. It has been approved and is live in the iTunes App Store. It's a free download, I hope it inspires others to see what can be done with the DPS platform.

Thanks to Bob Bringhurst and Bob Levine for help along the way answering some of our questions.
Thanks,

Jon, Aaron, it looks great! A couple of things jumped out at me right away:
1) You did an excellent job consistently guiding the user through navigation of the catalog. The clear region at the bottom of each page with a consistent indicator for swipe location is very nicely done.
2) I love the clever use of slideshows for changing colours of clothing throughout the catalog!
Well done. May there be many, many, more ![]()

Bob,
I seem to remember that Wired and other graphic reach DPS mags are around 400 MB for the standard res iPads? It is a little large about 640 MB for the new iPad but that is due to the retina display resolutions needed. Any suggestions on how to compress that further for future issues?
Felipe - not sure what you are asking here? If you download the app from the US iTunes store once you launch it you will be prompted to download the Dick's Football Catalog within the viewer. The app has been tested and verified, if you are having problems downloading the app it may be local to your device.
