Hi,
I have worked with Flash since Version2, and have never seen this issue before.
I created an interactive map for a company that has 8 buildings in one area. The files are illustrator cs5, that have been imported into the Flash library using Flash. each building is a movie that gets loaded from the library when the play head get to that particular frame. I made a simple button, and dragged it to each building movie, if I place the button into only four of the 8 small movies, it plays fine, but one more makes the file loop and the button flicker?
I was getting an error in both the output and compiler pulldowns, but now I don't, and it is still flickering. I have rebuilt the button and it is still doing it.
The Flash file size is 10.4 Mb.
Any help would be greatfully appreciated. Thank you.
regards,

Ned,
Is there a limit as to how many buttons you can have per flash file? The reason I ask, is that if I pick one of the eight buttons, and use that button for the eight movies, it plays fine (It doesn't matter wich button I use). But if I use eight different names, one for each button it flickers and loops.

There is no limit for the number of buttons.
If you are having flickering and looping problems it's because there is an error in the button, a wrong instance name for the button, or missing actionscript, like a stop(); action.
You could trouble shoot and correct the errors or build a second, third, fourth button from scratch to verify that multiple buttons work fine.
Just renaming a duplicate or copied button can cause problems because it can carry part of the original button action with it.
Instead, create a completely new button and just copy/paste frames from the original button rather that duplicating or copying the actual button itself.
