animating pictures

I want to animate objects that I place on my indesign document.  I am used to just selecting the picture and clicking the animation panel and choosing a preset.  The animation "dots" appear at the bottom corner of the picture as usual but when I click on preview the the image doesn't perform the animation.  When I export it to swf it doesn't do anything either.

 

I only get a chance to use InDesign about 4 times a year.  Have I accidently changed something in my setup?  Did the animation feature change (I tried googling it and didnt find anything).

 

I'm using Indesign CS5.5
