I appreciate that the "rejected" post has now been officially rejected and I appreciate the explanation (finally) from Adobe's representatives regarding the disabling of the account.

I missed this at first glance. I share Noel's outrage at Terri's comments. That is total lunacy. I have no desire to contribute to a community managed so bizarrely. I'm done here.

Adobe has full knowledge that this was certainly not the case. Nor has it ever been on this site. Now that the forum malfunction has been resolved and the ban has been explained, there is no further use for the alternate account. This is my last post on adobe.com.
I appreciate the discussion about identity. Some of us conceal ourselves for good reasons, not as a way to elude personal responsibility. We don't need to promote ourselves to sell our software like Noel. We don't need to announce our experience and hold it over others like Jeff Schewe rudely does. Posting without self promotion is the humblest thing that any of us could do.
Anonymity is not inherently evil. Some of us even hide behind cartoon avatars or quirky 3D glasses.
Cheers.
Ah, the drama.
Too bad to see Jim go... But if I had a nickel for every threat of users leaving... I'd have a lot of nickels.
I like the thread title. Dont know if it was intentional or not, but reminds me of David Thorne's Missing Missy blog article:

Graphic designers will get a kick out of it.
Jim, your input is valuable. You should reconsider.

Well, at least I don't resort to racist remarks which prompted the response I gave in that thread...if somebody doesn't know who I am, I'm happy to tell them :~)
In the grand scheme of things, this thread has been one of the weirdest and dark series of wildly swinging directions and topics I can remember. The whole thing is kinda creepy…and disturbing. Not that it'll drive me away, posting on the forums here is just too much fun :~)

I bet a few of us go way back to Usenet where misbehaving was what made it fun - although the two Usenet Photoshop groups were generally free of drama AIRI. But it is noticeable that you (Jeff) are cut more slack than us less auspicious posters, and allowed to give the odd clueless new poster a hard time. I have no problem with that, and have the deepest respect for your knowledge and obvious passion, but I also think that your occasional rant makes you fair game. ![]()
Which is why I have taken the odd liberty at your expense ![]()

Trevor,
Not sure what "AIRI" translates to, but if you are not pulling our collective legs, you must have frequented two different Photoshop news groups, than did I. Especially in alt.graphics.photoshop, things were always wild and crazy. Comp.graphics.photoshop was a little calmer. Now, that was back before there were any Adobe "sponsored" NNTP Photoshop news groups. Yes, it was like being on 4th Street in Leadville, CO in about 1893.
Just curious if NNTP was much different in the UK... ? ![]()
