CS4 full --> CS5.5 upgrade on Mac OSX Lion = brick wall

I need to install my CS5.5 upgrade on brand new (blank) macbook pro running osx lion, but I can't get past the known CS4 installation issues. Help!

You don't have to install the CS4 inorder to install CS5.5 upgrade, all you need is to have the serial number of CS4.
