have discarded broken case new computer can not install from disk without serial number have installed on old sick overheating computer anyway to retrieve serial # from registry or transfer working program from old to new...
I am moving this thread to the Premiere Pro CS4 & Earlier, as this is the Premiere Elements forum.
Also, you will want to provide a bit more info:
Did you purchase PrPro 1.5 from Adobe? If so, your S/N should be in your Adobe.com Profile (may not be your Forum Profile). Also, if you Registered your PrPro 1.5, Adobe should have your S/N.
That is what you are looking for, correct?
[PM sent to OP, regarding move']
Serial numbers are encoded during install, so you may not see the entire serial number from an existing install... this is an anti-piracy process, so someone who walks by your computer is not able to steal your serial number
As far as I know, the same is true for not being able to transfer a program from one computer to another
As Hunt said, your only option at this point is to log in to your Adobe account (click the big red A at the top left) and see if you registered so your serial number is on file
If you have the case for the PP 1.5.1 the Serial Number will be on the back of the case ? I have just checked it out. However, if you have an i7 64 bit computer you will run into issues with PP 1.5 and may not run correctly, as it will not handle AVCHD or H.264 mov well as you know, only HDV/mpeg-2 or SD .
Alternatively, a cheap way out is to buy Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 11 or Premiere Elements 10. But, PP 1.5 is clearly superior. It is now about 7 years old ?
Ps. Premiere Pro 1.5.1 still does work very well here on minor edits , on the business old Pentium, but, CS 5.5.2 or 6 (which now has a stabilizer) is the answer to the latest codecs from the newer videocameras , But, you will need the serial number to get upgrade price ?
