I'm going to be attempting to recreate a similar layout style to - http://www.online-presence.info/ I'm mainly wanting to recreate the link to pages movment and keeping a landscape view to collect my works. hopefully this will become a good template for my portfolio.

I mainly want to check that dream weaver is the right programme for this project and that I can acheive similar results.

I'll be learning as I go along whilst doing tutorials at W3Schools, there's no dead line for the project as I'm still making the majority of its contents.

Thanks in advance for any advice

Rich

Hi there and welcome to the forums!

Yes, you should have no problem creating a website in that layout in Dreamweaver.

Yes, you can do that with Javascript/JQuery. When doing tutorials, I suggest looking for instruction on "Javascript / JQuery Scroll Down to Position on Click". There's a whole bunch of tutorials out there on this effect. : )

    >when you click the links it takes you down the page to a section, is this done with javascript or html5?

Looks like a simple html named anchor.

Dreamweaver is very good tool.  If you can work with HTML, CSS & JavaScript code, there isn't much you can't do with it.

That said, one page web sites can be a problem if you have too much content.

    • They're heavy in bandwidth.
    • Very slow to load.
    • One page sites don't perform as well on search engines because there is a only one <title> tag for the entire site.

If you build your site with separate pages (as most people do), you can have a robust site with a unique <title> on every page.  This improves your SE visibility which helps drive traffic & potential customers to you.

Just a few things to consider.
