WinFileCache dat file not created

Hello. I am using CS5.5 and experiencing a lot of crashes. When this kind of thing happens, as I usually do, I go Dreamweaver's configuration folder in Documents and Settings (on Win XP) to delete the WinFileCache dat file. Of course I have "view hidden files" turned on. Since installing CS5.5, the cache file is never created so there is nothing to delete. Searching my machine for some wierd place it might be created turns up nothing. I have also renamed my configuration folder so Dreamweaver creates a fresh copy. Still no cache file.

 

I have searched on this subject but have found nothing. Very strange.

 

Any ideas. I have none. Thanks for any assistance.

    Are there any error messages thrown when you get a crash?  Have you enabled the cache in your site definition (Local > Advanced Settings)?

    The error is "Dreamweaver has to close." And yes, I have enabled the cache in the site definitions.
