301 Redirect issue

I've been working a while on this issue. I have an htaccess file with about 80 redirects in it, all of them function except for 3 of them.

Things I have tried:

  • Rearranging the redirect placement within the htaccess.
  • Triple-checked the syntax and had our server provider take a look, nothing was found out of the ordinary.
  • Recreated the source and desitination pages
  • Created a completely separate test page and redirected it to the pages (this worked)

Thge only other thing I noticed was all of the source files reside in the same sub-folder and my test page was outside of that folder.

Can there be something in that subfolder that messes with the redirect even though no other files are in the foder with the pages?

Thank you in advance for any ideas.
