How to define a font for form text input data

Jun 25, 2012 1:36 PM

Hello,

I am a graphic and web designer and I am trying to come up with a way to create a menu template for a client where I can COMPLETELY control the text size, font, color, kerning, etc in a text area or text field where the user will input the appropriate data and click SAVE and print.

The menu is highly stylized and therefor I need to make it "screw up proof" so the goal is to make the entire thing a background image and then lay a form over it in Acrobat Pro and have the user just fill in the form and the font information is set for them. I have NOT done anything in regards to coding for pdfs or writing scripts, but I am a web developer and am a quick learner, so any help is hugely appreciated.

When you set up a text field to allow rich text formatting, the user can use any font that's available on their system or embedded in the field, and can control the text size, text color, line spacing, and some other properties. To show the Properties bar that allows access to these things, press Ctrl+E. Scripting won't give you more control than this.
